Dr. Bill Thetford was a Psychology Professor and Director at Columbia University Medical Center and co-scribe of A Course in Miracles. He was also a powerful demonstrator of the Course Principles and really lived its fruits of joy and peace in his relationships and everyday life.
Carol Howe, Bill’s long term friend and author of his biography “Forget Not to Laugh” said that:
“Bill was a walking miracle, innocently loving, exerting an enormously powerful healing influence. His gift was innocence, not specialness, and that came from being willing to change his mind. What more need be said about the unutterable power of perceiving one another, and ourselves, as innocent at our very core, despite what our senses observe? The choice is universally available to everyone. Thus, despite his ambivalence about teaching, for many Bill was the greatest teacher they had ever known.”
Jack Luckett was a dear friend of Bill. Bill lived with Jack alongside his wife Leah, for the last 2 years of his life in La Jolla California. It is with them that Bill did some marvelous things. Jack recalls what Bill was like.
“Bill took the Course, turned his life around, and became the humble, modest, perfect, enlightened teacher of the Course by his conduct, by his being, and by his grace, gentleness, and love. Even if he had never helped bring us with the Course, and I had just met this man, I would still honor his most beautiful life.”
Bill left us with some important gifts. One of which was the Course, of Course, but another was his inspiring demonstration, and another still was the 12 Core Teachings of A Course in Miracles.

Let us not turn these teachings into mere theory. Let them become our way of being. Let them transform how we show up in our relationships, how we respond to challenge, how we see our brothers and sisters, and how we treat ourselves.
May we manifest love.
May we release fear.
May we forgive ourselves and one another.
May we train our minds and listen to the Voice for God.
May we remember that we are eternal beings—already whole, already worthy, already home.
This is not just a Course in Miracles. It is a call to live as miracle workers, and to bring Heaven a little closer to Earth through the lives we live.
The journey is simple. The path is clear. The message is love.
We are walking it together. You are not alone.
