Today, we’re hearing from Elaine, who asked a wise and heartfelt question about healing.

Here is what she asked:
QUESTION:
“If we are one with God but living in a false separation, then it seems the only thing to heal is that lie of separation. Because in spirit, we would already be perfect… right?”
Elaine, you are absolutely right.
We are perfect in spirit—because that’s how God created us.
A Course in Miracles says,
“You are as God created you. There is no place where you can suffer, and no time that can bring change to your eternal state.”
So then… what are we healing?
We’re not here to fix ourselves.
Not here to improve or perfect anything.
We are already perfect in truth.
We are here to change our minds—
To let go of every belief, thought, and illusion that says we’re not what God created us to be.
If We’re Already Perfect… What’s Left to Heal?
MY ANSWER:
We are one with God, but when we come into this world, we forget.
We take on a body.
We absorb stories, culture, pain, religion, trauma, conditioning.
And in that forgetting, we begin to believe a lie—that we are separate from Love.
That lie… is the wound.
And that is what we’re healing.
Healing doesn’t mean becoming “good enough.”
It means letting go of the belief that we were ever not good enough.
In Chapter 28 of A Course in Miracles, it says something beautiful:
“Healing is the result of the recognition that spirit is not sick, and that the body is not the self.”
What’s sick is the mind—believing that we are the body.
So when we heal the beliefs our mind is holding, we return to ourselves.
We remember who we really are.
How Do I Actually Heal My Mind?
Every day, we are invited to ask:
Is this thought coming from fear—or from God, who is only Love?
If it’s not from Love… we’re invited to let it be undone.
Healing means becoming aware of every scrap of meanness—
Every judgment, doubt, fear, and false thought.
And we don’t do it alone.
Jesus and the Holy Spirit are always with us, waiting for us to ask for help.
“Watch your mind for the scraps of meanness, or you will be unable to ask me to do so.”
Jesus honors and respects what we’ve made—even our illusions.
But He will not interfere with our free will.
We must invite Him in.
He will love us, care for us, respect us.
But if what we’re believing is false, He won’t love the illusion.
The moment we ask for help, He will purify that thought.
He will help us see as He sees.
What Do I Do When I’m Stuck in Judgment or Fear?
So when you notice yourself thinking:
- “I’m not good enough.”
- “I’m broken.”
- “I’m alone.”
Pause. Be honest. Ask for help.
“Holy Spirit, help me see this differently.”
“I don’t know what this means.”
“Please show me the truth.”
This is the practice. This is how we heal.
What Are the Actual Steps to Heal?
Here’s a simple step-by-step summary of the healing process:
- Notice the upset.
Whether it’s a tightness in the chest, fear rising, or an anxious thought—notice it. - Be willing to let it go.
You don’t have to know how—you just have to be willing. - Stop assigning your own meaning.
Let go of the story. Let go of what you think it means. - Rest in the clear, open space.
When you stop assigning meaning, your mind clears. - Ask for help.
In that quiet space, invite Jesus or the Holy Spirit in. - Let it be undone.
You don’t have to fix anything.
Let the power of Love undo it through you.
That’s it.
This is the healing process Jesus offers us.
This is how we return to our true, perfect state.
What If My Emotions Feel Too Big?
If you’re feeling fear, stress, conflict, or pain…
please know:
It’s not a sign that you’re failing.
It’s a call to awaken.
You’re exactly where you need to be.
And the world is healing with you.
That’s why I believe so deeply in the Workbook—
because it gives us one thought each day to apply to the mind.
To bring us back to the truth:
I am as God created me.
That’s not just a nice idea—it’s a fact.
You are whole. You are healed.
And you are ready to live from that place.
Thank you, Elaine, for your question.
