Trust, attribution, and review
Miracles of Mind aims to make ACIM teaching clear without blurring sources or presenting interpretation as settled fact. We identify the edition and section when citing the Course, use primary sources for history where available, attribute short quotations, label Britney Shawley’s interpretation and personal experience, and correct material when better evidence becomes available.
Who creates and reviews the content?
Britney Shawley is the principal teacher, author, and subject editor for Miracles of Mind. Articles may be prepared from her emails, teaching videos, podcasts, study groups, and written notes. Substantive theological interpretations, historical claims, quotations, and source references require Britney’s or a designated subject editor’s approval before publication.
How sources are handled
- Course references: we name the edition and provide the part, chapter or lesson, section, and paragraph where practical.
- Quotations: we quote briefly, attribute the source, and favor paraphrase when a full passage is not necessary.
- History: we prioritize archival material, publisher documentation, named participants, and clearly identified scholarly sources.
- Interpretation: phrases such as “Britney’s perspective” or “in our practice” identify guidance that is interpretive rather than a direct quotation.
- Personal experience: individual stories are presented as experience, not universal proof or medical evidence.
Dates, updates, and corrections
A visible updated date is changed only after substantive review—such as a meaningful factual correction, source improvement, structural rewrite, or expansion. Formatting fixes alone do not create artificial freshness. When an important error changes the meaning of a page, we correct it promptly and add a note when the earlier statement may have materially affected readers.
Independence and copyright
Miracles of Mind is an independent teaching and support resource. It is not the copyright holder or official publisher of A Course in Miracles. ACIM titles, quotations, and edition names are used for teaching, commentary, comparison, and identification. Readers seeking an official published edition can consult the Foundation for Inner Peace.
Spiritual therapy and scope of support
Britney uses the wording “spiritual therapist” and “spiritual psychotherapist” to describe spiritually oriented, educational, and pastoral-style support grounded in forgiveness, self-inquiry, and ACIM practice. These terms do not represent a claim to a regulated clinical licence unless a current credential is explicitly documented on the relevant service page.
Not clinical or emergency care: Miracles of Mind services do not diagnose or treat mental illness and are not a substitute for licensed medical, psychiatric, psychological, legal, or emergency services. If you may harm yourself or someone else, are in immediate danger, or need clinical treatment, contact local emergency services or a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
AI-assisted and technical work
Tools may assist with transcription, editing, formatting, internal linking, and structured data. They do not replace human subject review. Factual and theological responsibility remains with the named author or editor. Automated text is not published as a substitute for Britney’s teaching or firsthand perspective.
