Written by Britney Shawley, Spiritual Therapist

Today is a very special day for you to have said yes to clicking on this email

I’m really looking forward to diving into this conversation. It’s a timely one, because today, we’re talking about a powerful question.

Here is today’s ask:

QUESTION:

“Am I the Son of God too?”

It short and sweet, but oh man! Is that one of the smartest questions ever asked!

So, we all know that Jesus is called the Son of God, and on Christmas, we celebrate his birth into the world.

But the question is—is the way religion taught us to perceive the Christmas story complete?

Is the Christmas story accurate? Or is something very important being left out?

We’ll explore:

  • Why this question matters so much.
  • Why it must be answered within you.
  • And how to approach it from a Course in Miracles perspective.

Now, just to say—what I’m sharing here is just a snippet of a much deeper Workshop I offered on YouTube earlier today.

I’ll link that for you at the end of this email. But I wanted to loop you in on this journey in case you’re just simply wanting to read an email today.

However you receive this message—is for you right where you are!

Because honestly, this question feels especially alive this Christmas season.

Why This Spiritual Identity Question Matters

MY ANSWER:

It’s the same question that Christmas has quietly been asking for centuries through the image of the baby in the manger and through the story of Jesus, and…

through the longing we feel when we wonder:

Could holiness, innocence, or peace really belong to me?

So no, this isn’t just an email about Jesus or Christmas.

It’s about you. It’s about your true identity.

Because if Jesus came only to be different from you…then what are we doing here? That would mean the birth story is just performance.

A Course in Miracles says otherwise. It says that Jesus came to show us something about ourselves.

So we’re going to look at the Son of God through that lens—through the teachings of A Course in Miracles.

Why Don’t I See Myself As The Son of God?

Let’s begin here, by recognizing what we are not.

Because we cannot understand what we are until we’re willing to let go of what we’re not.

And the world has taught us so much about what we’re not.

You’ve probably heard it from family, from church, from society:

You’re broken.”
“You’re just a body.”
“You’re a sinner.”
“You’re separate from God.”
“You’re not enough.”
“You’re too much.”
“You’re unworthy.”

And this identity? It runs deep.

It shows up in thoughts like:

  • “I’m behind.”
  • “I don’t know how to do this.”
  • “I’ll never be spiritual enough.”
  • “Maybe one day I’ll get to heaven.”
  • “Maybe Jesus will save me if I do enough good.”

But friends—that narrative isn’t humility.

It’s your identity being hijacked by a false thought system.

This false narrative keeps you afraid. It keeps you apologizing for your existence.

And, it keeps you waiting for a worth that you already have.

What Does God Actually Say About Me?

A Course in Miracles is clear.

And even the Bible is clear if you look closely:

There is another Voice in your mind that speaks on behalf of God.

It is not the voice of guilt, shame, fear, or punishment.
It is not what the world taught you.

It is an inner voice. And it comes from God.

This Voice says:

“I am you, and you are Me. I am as God created Me. You are as God created you.”

This is not metaphor.
This is identity correction. God created you in His likeness.

Which means:

  • You are whole
  • You are innocent
  • You are eternal
  • You are spirit, not body
  • You are deeply loved
  • You are one with Christ—not in personality, but in shared identity

Did Jesus Come To Show Me Myself?

Jesus fully identified with the Christ.

He knew that this shared Sonship was his Self—and nothing else.

And what did Jesus say about you?

  • “You belong to Me.”
  • “You can do as I have done—and even greater.”
  • “You are the light of the world.”

He sent his disciples out two by two to bless the world with miracles.

Which means we can do miracle working too.

He saw us. Truly.

Not as small or separate—but as capable. As equals. As family.

But now—it’s our turn to say yes to what God and Jesus say about us. Not out of worship or fear—but out of love.

To say yes to following him—not because he’s better, but because Jesus came before us to show the way.

What Happens When I Accept What Jesus Says About Me?

There really is only one real problem.

when we don’t see ourselves as the God created us… we stay small.

We keep saying “maybe one day,” instead of “right now.”

We delay peace.
We delay joy.
We delay our purpose.

But when we accept how God created us as “I am the Son of God too,”

  • We stop seeking our worth—and we start extending it.
  • We stop waiting for peace—and we become its source.
  • We stop hiding our light—and we start shining it.

How Do I Actually Begin to Believe This Truth?

Simply put…Mind training.

We have train our minds to become aware of what’s not true about what you believe.

You have start with:

  • See the ego’s beliefs for what they are
  • Lay them down
  • Be willing to be wrong
  • Receive a different view of yourself—and accept it

And that’s what Jesus’s mind training in A Course In Miracles does.

It helps you:

  • Tell the difference between ego and truth
  • Let go of false stories
  • Accept how God already sees you

This is why the Workbook of A Course in Miracles is so powerful.

Jesus gave us the whole curriculum.

What If the Real Miracle of Christmas Is Already in Me?

This Christmas, let’s stop asking:

“Was Jesus really born in Bethlehem?”

Let’s start asking:

“Is Christ born in me?”

This is not about tradition.
It’s not about becoming something we’re not.

It’s about remembering what has always been true:

I am as God created me.

Did you know…you are not doing this remembering alone?
You are waking up with others—your brothers and sisters.

The world is doing this together.

So stay connected. Practice the truth about you.

Shine the light. The world needs it—and it starts with you.

I see you. You’re not alone.
