Today, we’re going to answer a powerful question from NewFoundMan.
He asked this during my Easter YouTube LIVE session this morning, and I felt called to answer it for all of us today.
This is what he asked:
QUESTION:
“What’s the difference between Jesus and the Holy Spirit?”
NewFoundMan, I’m so glad you asked this—
Because this question comes up all the time in our community.
A lot of students feel deeply connected to both Jesus and the Holy Spirit… but don’t always understand how they’re different, or how they work together in our minds and lives.
Also, if you’d like to hear a full breakdown of all the essential terms in A Course in Miracles — including:
- Miracles
- Forgiveness
- God’s Laws
- God’s Son
- Jesus
- and The Holy Spirit —
…then I encourage you to listen to the full audio version of this message.

Now, let’s explore today’s question.
Who are Jesus & Holy Spirit?
MY ANSWER:
Jesus is described in A Course in Miracles as our elder brother.
He fully remembered God, completed his role in the Atonement perfectly, and now leads the way back home for us to follow.
He is:
- the model,
- the teacher,
- and the loving reminder that we are also the Son of God — along with him.
Jesus was sent to help save humanity, to remind us of our shared identity with him as God’s Son.
And because his demonstration — through the resurrection — proved that eternal life is real and that the body and death are not, Jesus is still living.
He never died.
Because he still lives, we have direct access to him now.
And a lot of the time, that direct access comes through the Holy Spirit.
Then What (or Who) Is the Holy Spirit?
The Holy Spirit is the Voice for God — within your mind, my mind, and all of our minds.
We just need mind training to get in touch with it — but it’s there for all of us, here and now.
The Holy Spirit is:
- our inner teacher,
- our guide,
- and the source of correction, comfort, and healing.
It speaks both for God and for our true divine self, helping us choose love instead of fear in every moment.
The Holy Spirit Knows Truth and Illusion?
The Holy Spirit is quite literally the mediator between truth and illusions.
It knows the truth — but it also perceives illusion — so it can help us discern between the two in our everyday lives.
For me personally, I really like consulting the Holy Spirit — and asking:
“Help me see this differently.”

Jesus Shows Me? The Holy Spirit Helps Me?
Think of it like this:
Jesus is the demonstration.
The Holy Spirit is the tool.
We use the tool of the Holy Spirit:
- to become more Christ-like,
- to replace ego thinking with truth,
- and to guide us in our everyday lives — so we are led by love, not fear.
Jesus was able to work miracles and live by the laws of God because he listened to the Holy Spirit — and only the Holy Spirit.
So, I Need Both In My Life?
A Course in Miracles tells us:
“Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.”
We are to follow his demonstration — and love like he loved.
But the Holy Spirit is the voice and the eyes of that way.
It speaks to us. It speaks through us.
It sees truth — and looks through the inner eye, the spiritual eye, onto truth in this world.
So we need both.
We need Jesus, the Way —
And we need the Holy Spirit, the Voice and the Eyes of the Way —
In order for us to return to God.
Accepting Jesus as our brother and guide…
And listening to the Holy Spirit as our inner compass…
This is how we walk the path of miracles.

Easter Closing Blessing
So, my friends — in conclusion, this Easter:
Rise.
May we resurrect not only our understanding — but our identity.
May we:
- Choose miracles over fear
- Live under God’s laws, not worldly laws
- Know ourselves as God’s Son, not separate beings
- Practice forgiveness, not judgment
- And walk with Jesus as we listen to the Holy Spirit within
As we do, we become the living proof of what Jesus demonstrated:
“Nothing real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.
Herein lies the peace of God.”
Wishing you a beautiful, blessed weekend and week ahead.
May peace and love guide you on your journey. 💖
