Here is what she asked:
QUESTION:
“What is the New Earth?
Is it a shift in mindset? Something that happens after we die? Or is it an actual place we’re headed toward?”
I love this question. I know many of you have wondered the same thing.
So let’s take a little time today to slow down, breathe deeply, and explore this together.
We’ll look at it through the lens of A Course in Miracles, and I’ll also share from my own walk with Jesus.
Understanding the New Earth Through A Course in Miracles
MY ANSWER:
The phrase “New Earth” shows up across spiritual traditions.
You may know Eckhart Tolle’s book. The Bible prophesies it. Many teachers call it a spiritual evolution or awakening.
At its essence, the New Earth is a shift in perception:
- from fear to love
- from ego to the Holy Spirit
- from illusion to truth
Jesus doesn’t use the phrase “New Earth” in A Course in Miracles, but he does gives three parallel terms:
- the Real World
- the Happy Dream
- Heaven on Earth
Each of these parallel terms points to the same experience.
This experience of the New Earth includes:
- a state of mind where we’re fully aligned with God
- awake in our shared identity
- walking in peace right now.
New Earth is not a far-off paradise. It’s not reserved for saints or mystics.
It’s available in this very moment.
As we shift from separation to union, from judgment to forgiveness, from fear to love, we remember the Real World — Heaven on Earth as our shared reality in God.
The New World isn’t a place after death.
It’s a state within our hearts and minds now. When we touch it inside ourselves, we begin to see and live it here.
And by simply living it, we naturally remind others it’s here too — not through force or preaching, but through demonstration.
From Ego to the Holy Spirit: A Shift in Perception
Heaven on Earth is not about changing the world first.
It’s about an inner shift within yourself that then brings about a change in form.
A Course in Miracles reminds us:
The New Earth, or Real World, isn’t a physical place we reach after death, nor is it about controlling the world.
It’s about changing the way we see — and that begins 100% within our own minds.
When we train our minds to think with the Holy Spirit instead of the ego, something miraculous happens.
We begin to see with Christ Vision.
We remember:
- I am God’s beloved child.
- You are God’s beloved child.
- There is nothing to fear, because Love is what we are and what is real.
From that remembrance, we no longer project fear on the planet. We radiate peace and hope.
That’s how peace reaches form (physical items) — not by trying to change the world, but by changing our minds about it.
The form of the world may not change instantly, but our relationship to it does. And that changes everything.
What Does It Mean to Dream With the Holy Spirit?
The Course teaches the world is an illusion — a projection of the ego’s belief in separation.
But not all illusions are equal.
- The ego’s dream is full of fear, guilt, conflict, and death.
- The Happy Dream or Real World is the forgiven world — the world beyond this world that rises to our awareness when we’ve forgiven the old one.
From the Textbook:
“The real world can actually be perceived. All that is necessary is a willingness to perceive nothing else. For if you perceive both good and evil, you are accepting both the false and the true and making no distinction between them.”
(A Course in Miracles, T-11.VII)
It’s still technically a dream because we’re still in time and space, but it reflects Heaven here.
It’s gentle, peaceful, luminous — the last perception before God takes the final step.
It’s the bridge to Heaven on Earth.
In this state we realize:
- The cause of the dream is in my mind.
- If I want the effects to change, I must change my mind.
So we shift focus from changing the world to changing our minds.
Then the New World appears before our eyes.
How Do I Live the New Earth Each Day?
As our minds heal, we’re inspired to contribute, serve, bless, and give in ways guided by God’s Voice — not by ego.
Someone may ask: “Can this really happen?”
Yes. Not only can it happen, it’s meant to.
It is God’s will that peace come to Earth. It is God’s will that His children be happy.
Jesus tells us God’s will is perfect happiness for you — now.
Heaven is not a place you go.
It’s an experience in heart and mind extended into form through love, through you.
And it’s practical:
- Choosing compassion even when upset.
- Forgiving yourself for judging your brother.
- Showing up for your purpose even when uncomfortable.
- Speaking truth with grace, even if your voice shakes.
- Loving with integrity, always.
Jesus says in the Course:
“If enough of you become miracle-minded quickly enough, the world will be saved.”
That’s the tipping point.
Not waiting for a distant shift or Jesus’ return — but becoming the shift.
Why Does My Purification Come First?
Before the New Earth rises, there’s a period of deconstruction, purification, and healing — both within us and in the world.
So don’t be surprised when things shake or break down. This isn’t the end.
It’s the clearing of space for God’s Kingdom to break through.
For too long we’ve lived out of alignment with God — focused on differences, judgments, separations.
Now is the time to see what’s the same in us, to recognize how loved and worthy we all are, so we can birth a new world together.
What Part Do I Play?
A Course in Miracles says:
“The salvation of the world depends on me.”
When we purify our minds and hearts, the world is purified along with us.
This isn’t about dying to get to Heaven.
It’s about being awake in the dream and extending God’s light here so all can experience peace and happiness.
We’re given everything we need:
- the Holy Spirit to guide us
- miracles to collapse time
- Jesus to walk with us until the end of time
- and each other to hold our hands and remind us of the truth when we forget
Earth isn’t a punishment.
It’s a classroom for remembering the Heaven and Love we never left.
When we learn the lesson, we bring that peace here.
So, How Do We Choose the New Earth?
The New Earth isn’t something we wait for. It’s something we choose every single day.
Every time you choose love over fear, clarity over confusion, peace over conflict, forgiveness over attack — you’re remembering who you are.
And you’re bringing the New Earth into being.
