Who is Jesus?

“The Name of Jesus is the name of one who was a man, but saw the face of Christ in all his brothers and remembered God. So he became identified with Christ, a man no longer but at one with God. Jesus remains a Savior because he saw the false without accepting it as true. And Christ needed his form that He might appear to men and save them from their own illusions. In his complete identification with the Christ–the perfect Son of God, His one creation and His happiness, forever like Himself and one with Him–Jesus became what all of you must be. He led the way for you to follow him. He leads you back to God because he saw the road before him, and he followed it. He made a clear distinction, still obscure to you, between the false and true. He offered you a final demonstration that it is impossible to kill God’s Son; nor can his life in any way be changed by sin and evil, malice, fear or death. And therefore all your sins have been forgiven because they carried no effects at all. And so they were but dreams. Arise with him who showed you this because you owe him this who shared your dreams that they might be dispelled. And shares them still, to be at one with you.” – A Course in Miracles: Use of Terms

We all have our ideas, stories and lessons learned about Jesus. We all have our opinions, beliefs, fears and hopes in regards to Him. Whether we think he lived on earth as we are or not, whether we know him from the bible, or any religion, whether we learned of him through our own personal experiences or even if we have no clue about what to believe or think in regards to him; we can all generally still agree that Jesus is kind, trustworthy, loving and true.

We hear Jesus is Christ, all the time. ‘The Christ’ to me is representative of the light, eternal life, infinite love, right mindedness or a higher-realm of consciousness (Christ Consciousness) that is forever an effect of God. In truth the Christ is the Soul/Son God created thus it is infallible, powerful and True for all eternity. This is why Jesus is still with us. His Soul/Christ Self never died, and he was the first to demonstrate this through resurrection. Jesus also demonstrates that we are One with Him through our ability to train our minds and learn to listen to His Voice of Love within us. If we were not of like nature we could not “be of one mind” as we are instructed to do/be both in the bible and A Course in Miracles. Jesus asks us to use Holy Spirit (not ego) to think with, so Holy Spirit can lead us to our One Mind we share with Him (and God).

Jesus is worthy of respect and devotion, as an elder brother, who knows far more than we do at this time. He is in charge of the sonship and the whole Atonement. We must forgive our misperceptions of him, and embrace him as the elder brother and divine guide that he is.

I have come to know him as an elder brother, helping me along this path so I can avoid pitfalls and increase my faith. He is not intrusive nor pushy, he is always patient, loving, gentle, kind and often funny. I have found when anyone is willing to open their mind and heart to him, he reveals himself, showing us he has never left us, and that we are wholly worthy of his love, healing and direction no matter what we think we did or did not do.

I am grateful for Jesus. I feel he was here 2000 years ago to bring forward Christ Consciousness and to demonstrate the miraculous power of Love and eternal Life. I feel he is still here today, inspiring and guiding us to accept Christ Consciousness as He did, and work the kinds of miracles we are intended to work in this day and age. The tool I use to help strengthen my relationship with Jesus is meditation and asking questions to him and have him reveal the answer to me within. I also use the lessons in A Course in Miracles to train my mind and undo error so I can hear his voice clearly and feel his presence deeply in my heart and mind.

I have learned that the only difference between me (or any of us) and Jesus, is that he accepted Himself ONLY as the Christ (Gods Son) and ONLY that. He chose to follow ONLY Gods Voice and Gods Laws and thus Loved everyone as Himself.
The majority of humans have yet to learn to live as Jesus did, only because they have yet to THINK as Jesus did.
Yet once we do think with the thoughts of Christ, we can experience that we are the same as Him and that we are endowed with the same power and peace and characteristics that God gave Jesus.  Jesus’s message is to give the Love a Father has for His Children, and we are ALL Gods children, and that’s why Jesus gives everything to us. We do have a long way to go for all of us to embrace our true nature as God’s child, and because of that, we have Jesus to help us every step of the way. We couldn’t this this (awakening/healing/salvation) without him.

I have found that there are a few key ideas that can help us to open our hearts to Jesus and embrace a relationship with him if we want one:

  • We are remembering our Unity with Jesus: not the man, but the Christ. We are equals.
  • We learn to discern between the false and the true by listening to His voice (Christ guidance) and following His direction (Christ Control).
  • The greatest learning happens in our RELATIONSHIPS. Between us and others, between Jesus and us, between us and Self, between Creator and Created.
  • Love your brother, your neighbor, your enemy, your friend. When you give the Love, you will know you are Love and receive Love thereby. Love is the answer to heal all the world.
  • Love is God. Jesus represents His total Love and forgiveness and brings it to this world, and so can we learn to do such things.

” I have told you that I am with you always, even to the end of the world. That is WHY I am the light of the world. If I am with you in the loneliness of the world, THE LONELINESS IS GONE. You CANNOT maintain the illusion of loneliness if you are NOT alone. My purpose, then, IS to overcome the world. I do not attack it, but my light must dispel it because of what it IS. Light does not attack darkness, but it DOES shine it away. If my light goes with you everywhere, YOU shine it away WITH me. The light becomes OURS, and you cannot abide in darkness any more than darkness can abide wherever you go. The remembrance of me IS the remembrance of yourself and of Him Who sent me to you.”
